4 Things To Know About ParentVUE

What You Need to Know about ParentVUE

As current students and parents can tell you, we take academics very seriously at the Rising School.

But we also understand that student learning doesn’t take place in a vacuum. That’s why we work to instill a strong sense of accountability, civic duty, and community into each student who pases through our doors and out into the world. To achieve this, we stay on the cutting edge of instructional methodologies and classroom technology innovations.

ParentVUE is one such tool that we use to connect all the stakeholders in each student’s education. But despite its usefulness, we still occasionally encounter potential students and their parents who have never dealt with a platform quite as unique as ParentVUE.

Today we’re taking a closer look at what ParentVUE can do to bolster your child’s education and keep you up to date on their progress, successes, and opportunities for improvement.

What is it?

In a nutshell, ParentVUE is an online communication platform that keeps the educational triangle of student, parent, and teacher in close contact with one another.

Once logged-in to ParentVUE, parents can view their students’ course attendance, grades, upcoming assignments, school events, and more.

Parents can also receive automatic notifications if their students’ attendance or academic performance drops to at-risk levels. And it also provides parents and teachers with a direct line of communication with each other.

If only the parents and teachers of Ferris Bueller, titular character of the 1980s comedy classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, had had access to such resources…

How does ParentVUE enhance Student Learning?

ParentVUE takes the surprises out of students’ grades, as parents can view their child’s progress all throughout the semester.

This gives parents an active role in helping to address potential issues early on, instead of only learning that their child was struggling once a less-than-thrilling report card arrives in the mail.

The same goes for student attendance, because there’s nothing more detrimental to student progress than absences when important course content is being taught. At best, students must find time to meet with instructors and cover the missed material. And at worst students simply fall behind their peers.

Even for parents who don’t consider themselves to be tech-savvy, ParentVUE can still be an extremely useful tool. Using the platform’s alert feature, parents can set up one-time customizations for when they wish to be alerted of low grades, attendance concerns, and other issues. ParentVUE then takes care of the rest, issuing alerts via email.

But perhaps the best feature of ParentVUE is the communication it enables between teachers and parents. Gone are the days when parent-teacher conferences were the only occasion for parents and instructors to exchange notes; with ParentVUE they can discuss student progress from the very first day of the semester.

ParentVUE is just one component of The Rising School’s unique and innovative approach to fostering tomorrow’s leaders. To learn more about enrolling your child, call us at (520) 730-2657 or stop by our 7444 E Broadway Blvd Tucson, AZ 85710 for one of our open houses.
